Some Arsenal supporters remain desperate for the club to sign Yves Bisouma after the latest comments from the Brighton midfielder.
The Mali international recently explained that he believes he is the best midfielder in the Premier League, and the comments have certainly sparked a lot of conversations on social media.
When asked who he thought was the best by his former Seagulls teammate Glenn Murray, in an interview for the BBC, Bissouma said: “I don’t want to be arrogant but that’s my mind. I think for me it’s me because, in my head, I’m working to be the best.
“I know the Premier League has a lot of good midfielders, but for me it’s me because it gives me confidence and energy to work hard to show people that” I’m here, I’m Bissouma.
“I just want to focus on the football to play every game, every week to be good, to help my team win and yes the rest we will see for the future.”
football.londonreported in January that Arsenal’s interest in Bissouma is indeed real and the midfielder would choose a move to the Emirates Stadium in favor of anywhere else in the Premier League.
So, he’s been on the Gunners’ radar for quite some time and he remains a popular transfer target for club supporters.
Brighton boss Graham Potter, when asked about Bissouma’s future at Amex stadium last month, admitted the Malian midfielder found himself largely out of his control.
“It seems I’ve been talking about Yves Bisouma for a while,” Potter said in August.
“But he’s still there. I can’t control the future. Yves is with us, he’s happy and smiling, he wants to play and continue to improve his career.
“He’s our player and as long as he’s here we’ll do our best to help him.”
