FURIOUS Arsenal fans blocked Mikel Arteta’s car and told him to “indulge himself” and leave the club after Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea.
The Gunners had the worst start to the season in their 118-year history, losing their first two Premier League games to Brentford and Chelsea respectively.
Returning goals Romelu Lukaku and Reece James sealed the three points for the Blues, sending them to the top of the Premier League table.
As a result, Arsenal players have been booed at the whistle at half-time and full-time, and the Gunners find themselves in the bottom three.
Boss Arteta was oddly upbeat when asked about the fan’s reaction to the result.
He said: “I have to thank the fans, even when things looked tough they tried to give the players a boost.
“I see a lot of positive points with the public and the team today.
“In the end, I didn’t see any bad reaction from the players. But that’s my opinion.

“Feeling sorry for yourself doesn’t help.
“You have to rise to the challenge, face the criticism – because it will come.”
But it seems Arteta misjudged the fan’s mood as images of angry Arsenal fans surround his car and ask him to leave after the game.
A fan can be heard saying, “Arteta, was that enough? Please quit the club.”
Another repeated furiously, “Mikel, do yourself a favor.”
The Arsenal boss, clearly frustrated at being held back and receiving calls to quit his post, beeped to try and get some of the angry fans to leave.
Eventually, another Arsenal fan stepped in and pulled the angry crowd away from Arteta’s window, allowing the Gunners boss to move on.
SunSport has contacted Arsenal for comment.
