Arsenal’s appalling 2020/2021 campaign has ultimately ended in a negative way, as they miss European football for the first time in over 20 years.
They replaced Arsène Wenger in 2018, but the Frenchman was in Europe every season he was in charge of the club.
Since his departure, they have been in a downward spiral and even Mikel Arteta is struggling to stop the slide.
They are now reportedly looking to rebuild their squad and look to finish next season in the top four.
The club’s players may feel relieved that they have had to play this season without supporters in the stands as it would have been awful to watch and no one knows how the supporters would have reacted.
Following their last game of the season against Brighton, the club released a video of Arteta and his players applauding and thanking the returning fans for their support.
But the tweet was not well received by all of their supporters, with some making their feelings known and at least one fan said they should have done better for the support they got.
Here are the reactions:
But you were never there for us through thick not to speak of thin. Ti yin ti ta danu

Get rid of Willian, fire Ceballos ASAP, change Bellerin, then never talk about this year again.#KroenkeOut

Nothing… and I mean NOTHING, can separate me from this beautiful club.
But please, I beg you, do better next season and make us all proud again. We are too often joked in these streets. 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/U7NoqoOA8n

I must be an old arsenal fan like myself to remember sustaining through the thickness. The progress ended with kroenke and begins with the new owners. #KroenkeOut
