PlayStation 5 restocking coming soon
Update: The PS5 could drop at Game, Smyths Toys, Very, John Lewis, Asda and more this week. Read on for more information.
The PS5 console was released over six months ago, but if you’re a gamer you’ll know how difficult it was to get your hands on the latest device.
Replenishment issues have plagued Sony since the reveal, and despite stores reopening in the UK as lockdowns lift, the situation does not appear to improve much.
It has become so difficult for people to get their hands on a PS5 that it has spawned a whole Twitter community of stock trackers, as well as a community of Redditors of 24,500 people all trying to get hold of the console before they can. ‘she never sells again.
But that’s not all bad news, as we took advantage of some of the best PS5 stock drops yet in May. There has been a massive 20,000-person drop in Game, the highly anticipated release of Very, and restockings at Amazon, AO, Smyths, ShopTo, Argos and others. Almost all of the major retailers experienced a drop in inventory (sometimes more than one) in the past month. And June should be even better, although it hasn’t yet been.
The past week has been much quieter on the PS5’s declining inventory front, with a single release from Amazon that only lasted for half an hour. However, there are seven rumored drops for this week from Game, John Lewis, and Very.
Due to high demand, we’re here to help you get your hands on the coveted Playstation by keeping an eye out for all the major retailers, as well as providing you with the latest details on release rumors. Follow live so you don’t miss a thing.
You can trust our independent roundups. We may earn commissions from some retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections, which are formed from actual testing and expert advice. These revenues help fund journalism through The independent.

There is potentially a huge Currys PS5 backlog
There appears to be a big backlog for those who have received and redeemed Currys PS5 VIP passes. Some people have taken to Twitter to complain about not getting a phone call from the retailer.
For the uninitiated, Currys switched a few months ago to a new allocation system for PS5 consoles. Instead of waiting for a drop, you sign up for VIP Currys PS5 raffle and wait for the retailer to send you a code. You have 72 hours to redeem this code, which gives you priority access to purchase a PS5 at your local store.
Except that Currys may have recently closed the VIP code system to new entrants. I’m trying to enter the draw. Now takes you to a page stating that the campaign has ended. This makes sense given the backlog that pass holders are currently facing and hints that the retailer will put the PS5 back on general sale.

A tip for the next AO PS5 replenishment
It’s been a while since AO had a PS5 restock, with the console last reaching those virtual shelves on May 19. Stock trackers are predicting that the console will drop between June 8 and June 10 this week, so hopefully it won’t stick around for long.
There is a little trick to get the PS5 from AO.fr, discovered in the previous drops by the Twitter account @ PS5StockAlertUK. It does take a bit of effort, but many people have successfully used it when the console is live but shows “out of stock”. Note: This will only work when the PS5 product page is live on AO and you will need to use Google Chrome.
- When the PS5 product page is online, copy the product ID from the PS5 and save it in a safe place.
- Navigate to a random item on the AO website.
- Right click on the “Buy Now” button on the random item. In the Item Inspector, change the Product ID to the Product ID of the PS5.
- Click on “Buy Now”.

When will Amazon have a PS5 restock?
The last time Amazon had a PS5 restock was in the first week of June. It’s pretty much the only retailer to have a drop so far this month, if we discount Box.co.uk’s new skinny and ridiculously expensive package. A PS5 inventory tracking account said that we should expect at least another PS5 drop from Amazon before the end of the month.
Amazon’s decline lasted for just half an hour, despite having 11,000 consoles in stock. Looking at the past drops, it looks like Amazon is still releasing the PS5 digital edition (£ 359.99, Amazon.com) first, then proceeds to the PS5 Disc Edition (£ 449.99, Amazon.com) about half an hour later. We’ll keep you posted if we hear more.

An update on the restocking of the PS5 game
If you were following the blog live last week, you could probably feel our frustration seeping through the screen as predicted. Thu drop continued to escape us. Apparently the no-show was due to the retailer still trying to pack, deliver and refill the previous week’s large number of PS5s. If you remember – and were lucky enough to have one – there were 20,000 PS5 and PS5 packs up for grabs.
Hope this is all sorted out now, and those of you who haven’t gotten one yet can order the console this week. Until then, we’ll continue to keep you updated on any new news.

PS5 restock UK – Here’s what’s coming this week
Hello PS5 researchers! After one of the worst weeks for the PS5 drops in the first week of June, we’re hoping this week could make up for it. Stock trackers are predicting we’ll see not one, not two, but seven drops in PS5 this week. If these ephemeral consoles don’t always materialize as we hope, we’ll be happy if at least four of them drop.
We finally expect to see all 12,400 PS5 bundles from last week Thu, potentially today, but more likely tomorrow or June 9.
