PS5 restocking: Smyths Toys has stock but there is a catch

Smyths Toys went live with the PS5 stock. The difference with this restock, however, is that this is a pre-order in store only. Head to Smyth’s site to check if your local retailer has stock, or better yet, call them.

Pre-orders will start every time your local store opens and will be worth checking out throughout the day. A £ 20 deposit is required to place an order, but this money will then be deducted when you make full payment. Delivery is scheduled between November 15 and November 20.

Both disc and digital consoles are available, and while we would always recommend going for sets with the best chance of getting one, this time around you should be able to choose whatever is available … given that it ‘is in person.

Smyths Toys social media also responded to consumers ahead of the drop, confirming that more stock is expected in November:

Anyone who buys a PS5 console today can check out the latest exclusive games from Sony, including Deathloop, Returnal, Demon’s Souls, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and more. Not to mention Horizon Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok, which are currently in development for the platform.

Smyths has been great at console stock in the past and this method prevents scalpers from buying the lot. I have personally purchased hardware from Smyths in the past (Nintendo Switch) and found it to be a quick and easy experience. You never know, you might get lucky on your lunch break or walk home from work so I highly recommend checking in.

You can always keep an eye out for upcoming PS5 stock drops using our PS5 stock tracker, but if Sony’s console wait is taking its toll, you can always check out our Xbox Series X stock tracker so that you can start playing new generation games as soon as possible.
