A new report suggests there could be one last PS5 stock drop in May, thanks to Smyths Toys.
The UK retailer has been fairly quiet in recent weeks, with Argos, Amazon and GAME providing the biggest replenishments of next-gen consoles.
But a new report released this week suggests that May may have another stock decline to give, and it could happen today.
It should be noted that this remains a forecast, for now, which means that this further drop in stock could occur between May 28 and June 5.
And that’s a pretty wide range of dates, even if you take the weekend out of the equation.
The information was shared by the PS5 instant Twitter account, which has provided solid predictions in the past.
Unfortunately, we don’t have time to check out the Smyths website, which means inventory drop can happen at any time.
In the past, Smyths has chosen to release consoles at night, but there’s no way to know if that will stick to that pattern.
And Smyths could be joined by several other retailers who plan to release consoles in June.
Based on what has been shared so far, the new Amazon PS5 stock will drop between June 2-9.
Meanwhile, Very is expected to release its next release towards the end of June, with GAME also linked to a drop next month.
However, an earlier prediction regarding GAME having new stock in early June has been restricted by another reliable source.
PS5 Stock Alert UK, which previously predicted a PlayStation restock for June, released this update, telling console hunters:
“We found out that yesterday’s restock was the 15,000 inventory count we mentioned in the previous tweet below. In addition to the 15K stock, there were 5K canceled orders so a 20K drop in total hence the reason the drop was massive and took a long time to sell.
“Which means there is no information on a replenishment next week, unless they decide to remove the replenishment from orders canceled next week for orders failed yesterday.”
Stock trackers suggest that something from Tesco could happen between now and June 2 and will be available on the website. It looks like these latest next-gen consoles will be available for pre-order, meaning they won’t arrive until June.
It’s important to know that more PlayStation stocks are coming, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock on each platform.
Here are some examples of the best way to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from major UK retailers:
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use guest verification as this option is less likely to crash when finalizing a purchase. GAME recently restocked the PS5 and is out of stock again.
ARGOS: The Argos website is known for its crashes and inability to make purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings. Argos is not expected to receive any more shares until June.
CURRYS: Currys didn’t share much stock in May but did deliver consoles through a new system. This includes signing up for the Currys VIP Pass, which means going to the website and using an email address. If you do this, you have a chance to buy a PS5 console from a store, within 72 hours.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK works best under power, but still has a few flaws to mention. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before heading out. Amazon is expected to release new stock in early June.
