UPDATE: A new post from the PS5 Instant inventory tracking account on Twitter – which has provided reliable information in the past – reveals that Shopto’s new PS5 inventory update could take place between May 14 and May 21. Amazon UK is also listed as receiving a PS5 restock between May 17-19, which would mean the arrival of more next-gen consoles next week.
ORIGINAL: The surprise drop in ASDA’s PS5 shares today could be one of the last of the week, with many more slated for May.
Based on what has been shared by stock trackers so far, there is a low chance of an additional PS5 restocking this week.
Friday could see a surprise drop in Shopto, although there’s a good chance it’ll happen around May 18 instead.
Smyths Toys is another retailer who likes to share new inventory on Fridays, but it’s unclear if anything is slated for May 14.
And with no more information to come, it looks like buyers will get their next best shot at buying a next-gen console next week.
The Smyths website currently lists the PlayStation 5 as out of stock, but confirms that more stock will arrive in May.
Friday will be the last day of the week to hold inventory, as retailers rarely share stock drops on Saturday or Sunday.
The good news is that PS5 stock drops are slated for next week, starting Tuesday, May 18.
The list of retailers expected to carry more stock next week are Amazon UK, Very and John Lewis.
It’s unclear how many consoles will be available for purchase on Amazon, which hasn’t seen a significant drop in weeks.
But there have been rumors that this could be one of the internet giant’s biggest drops since early 2021.
The good news is that the next Amazon PS5 restock is expected to be the biggest yet for the UK.
The @ PS5StockAlertUK Twitter posted: “News: Amazon UK expects a delivery of around 10K PlayStation 5 later this week, hinting at a drop from May 17-19. This will be their biggest replenishment yet, because Amazon UK typically replenishes around 6K-8K.
“This is the first time that we have received information from Amazon UK since their drop in March last. So that can mean they won’t restock this week, unless it’s a double resupply within two weeks, which is unlikely. always keep an eye on you every morning as usual! “
Because retailers very rarely confirm when exactly a PS5 restock occurs, rumored and leaked dates from inventory tracking accounts like @ PS5StockAlertUK are the best indication fans have as to when the next restock will go live.
And it looks like Amazon could drop its next batch on May 18 or 19, depending on internal planning.
It’s important to know that more PlayStation stocks are coming, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock from each platform.
Here are some examples of the best way to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from major UK retailers:
AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK works best under power, but still has a few issues to mention. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before heading out. Amazon UK will be one of the next stores to release PS5 stock, which is expected to happen around May 18th.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use the Guest command, as this option is less likely to crash when finalizing a purchase. GAME recently restocked the PS5 and is out of stock again.
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for its crashes and inability to make purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings. Argos is not expected to receive any more stock until later in May or early June.
