Smyths became the last UK retailer to offer PS5 consoles this month, after an earlier Studio restock on September 7.
According to the latest news provided by the PS5 Stock UK tracking account on Twitter, Smyths stores are currently restocking on next-gen consoles.
The message from the trusted retail source reads: “We hear from members of our Discord, some have called Smyths Toys on the phone and everyone gets different responses, some staff say it’s is in store now and online later, some say it’s in store only, so worth a visit.
Adding: “As we mentioned in our Exclusive News tweet, you can also pre-order in store.”
Chances are all PS5 stock is gone online, so the best course of action is to try and phone your local store.
And if you missed another chance to buy a PlayStation 5 this week, more chances are due soon.
According to PS5 Stock UK on Twitter, Argos will receive a new delivery this week.
This could lead to the PS5 stock going live on Argos regional sites on September 14, although that remains a report for now.
A previous post from PS5 Stock UK on Twitter read: “PlayStation 5 (Argos) Exclusive News: Internal systems now show the high-demand console will arrive in midweek deliveries around September 8, indicating a possible restocking between the September 14 and 17. “
GAME is another big retailer that is expected to offer a new delivery of PS5 consoles in September.
This should happen by next week, but delays are always possible.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles their shipments.
And here are some examples of the best way to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from major UK retailers:
ARGOS: Argos website has been known to crash and be unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when making a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected around September 14.
AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK works best under power, but still has a few flaws that are worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. More stock is expected in September but no solid date has been confirmed.
Demand remains very high for PS5 consoles in 2021 as retailers are unable to meet demand.
Next-gen stocks typically sell within hours of release, leaving many to wait to buy one.
Sony has so far confirmed that it has sold 10 million units worldwide, reaching the milestone on July 18.
