DualSense PS5 wireless controller
The PS5 launched in November 2020, but supply issues and a global semiconductor shortage have slowed production of Sony’s next-gen console. New stock is hard to find, and when it does show up, the PS5 sells out quickly.
July was a mixed bag for PS5 restockings, but we got a few healthy drops throughout the month at Very, Smyths Toys, Argos, Amazon and Game. As for the month of August? Well, it’s been phenomenal. So far this month, 15 retailers have given up inventories – several have dropped more than once – and we still have eight days left. We have seen it all John Lewis & Associates, Smyths Toys and Very to Asda, Amazon, ShopTo and Argos. While we only received three drops last week – with Gamejoin the pack – Very dropped yesterday and more replenishments may follow today.
If you’re still looking for a PS5, you’ve come to the right place. Our liveblog is here to give you the latest information on Playstation 5 restockings from all major UK retailers, both online and in store, as well as providing details on release rumors, the latest PS5 games and accessories to buy.

Could AO PS5 stock drop then?
If you thought AsdaAsda’s website was bad, wait until you … well, no, Asda’s website is probably as bad as it is going to be. AO Also has a pretty difficult website to manage when the stock goes live, but it’s slightly easier than trying to buy from Asda.
It is the only major retailer that has yet to give up inventory this month, we are waiting and hoping that today could finally be the day we have a restocking. The retailer last ditched inventory on July 28, and the PS5 sold out in 10 minutes.
The process of getting a console is arduous – people have to modify the website code using the Google Chrome Item Inspector, just to put it in their shopping cart. AO doesn’t seem to have huge amounts of stock on hand when there’s a downturn, so PS5s tend to snap up quickly. If there is a drop, it could happen until 2 p.m.

Asda PS5 stock is sold out
I think we all kissed of Asda site to death. We’ve never seen it crumble so hard before, but somehow our thirst for PS5 killed the website. The whole site went down.
Before that, however, we noticed that the “Saved for Later” wishlist indicated that the PS5 was out of stock. Was it really? We’ll never know, although we’re pretty sure it’s complete.
Rest in peace, Asda, and thank you for all the PS5s. What do we have our eyes on next? AO.com is a definite possibility – we’ll return tea in our next article.

Asda PS5 stock is online
If you have any issues, try to verify by adding the console to your wishlist first (click on that little heart icon), scroll down and click “Saved,” then add it to your bag at go from there. It is often stated that it is out of stock if you just try to check out from the main landing page. The PS5 Disc Editing Console (£ 449.99, Asda.com) is the only one currently available. However, the website is very glitchy. Be persistent!

Ace Studio PS5 is sold out, and will Amazon PS5 stock drop even further today?
As previously mentioned, Amazon was inclined sharply to cool this morning, but at the late hour a replenishment may not occur today. The retailer typically ditches the stock from the disc publishing console around 9 a.m. and then follows it up with the digital publishing console at 9:30 a.m., so he’s way overdue if he has to ditch the PS5 today. hui.
We are always optimistic and always keep an eye on the retailer. Ace Studio has now sold out the PS5 Disc Edition Pack with Ratchet & Clank (£ 569.99, Ace.co.uk)

Why is the PS5 digital edition so difficult to secure?
If you’ve been following our stock updates for a while, you’ve probably noticed that the PS5 Disc Editing Console is much easier to buy than the Digital Edition, with the Digital Console usually selling out in a matter of minutes. It is despite the digital editing console (for the record) that seems to be the most popular machine.
It’s been like this since the console was released in November. When Eurogamer talked to sources at various retailers prior to the console’s launch, it was said that retailers were allocated around 25 percent digital publishing consoles and 75 percent disc publishing consoles.
We don’t know if the situation has changed since then, but we still see fewer digital publishing consoles dropping than disc publishing consoles. Retailers themselves may also prefer to order in the disc-publishing console rather than digital – they cost more (£ 449.99) for one, and they can combine it with physical games to charge extra.
However, Sony recently developed a new, lighter digital editing console, which may help boost stock levels.

Amazon PS5 consoles could drop in the next half hour
Add the console to your wishlist and then add it to your shopping cart. We have had more success checking this way. Having trouble checking? Try to use Amazon Smile – a separate website that donates part of the cost of your purchase to a charity of your choice. Amazon Smile receives a lot less traffic than the regular Amazon website, so if there are any issues, Smile should perform better.
The retailer could run out of inventory in half an hour, but we heard from across the pond that Amazon had issues with its website and AWS yesterday, so we’re not sure how or even if it might affect things.

Ace Studio PS5 standalone disc edition sold out, but the pack is still available
As we expected, the disc edition of the PS5 is now sold out at As Studio, but you can still buy a PS5 disc edition pack with a copy of Ratchet & Clank and an additional dualsense controller (£ 569.99, Ace.co.uk). The website says the pack is selling out fast, so we’d take action if we were you! There doesn’t seem to be a queue anymore either – always a bonus in our eyes.
Watch out for a Amazon drop off this morning. We will follow up with more details and advice in a mo.

A recap of today’s replenishment events
What a day! Although there was only one drop this morning, we’re pretty happy with it overall. Very‘s drop lasted nearly three hours – with some even reporting that there was a whopping 12,000 consoles available – the largest of which Very never had. We hope you’ve been successful in securing a console today, but if you haven’t, don’t worry. We will come back here tomorrow to redo everything.
