UPDATE: A new report released this week suggests there could be a final drop in PS5 stock in the UK in May 2021.
Smyths Toys is unlikely to release a PlayStation 5 restock on Friday, May 28, including a limited supply of next-gen consoles. However, it seems more likely that this drop in inventory will occur next week, early June 2021.
ORIGINAL: Thousands of PlayStation 5 consoles have been available for purchase this week, and it looks like more PS5 stock is on the way.
Reliable inventory tracking accounts have kept players up to date with what UK retailers are up to next.
This included the latest stock drops from Argos, Currys, Amazon ASDA, Littlewoods and GAME.
And from what was shared by the same sources, the new PlayStation 5 consoles will be shipped by Amazon, GAME, and Very.
According to the PS5 Instant Twitter account, Amazon UK could release thousands of new consoles next week.
This will technically be one of the first resupply events in June, but it won’t be the last.
Smyths has confirmed that he will be releasing new stock next month, as have Very and GAME.
Based on what has been shared so far, the new Amazon PS5 stock will drop between June 2-9.
Meanwhile, Very is expected to release its next release towards the end of June, with GAME also linked to a drop next month.
A message from PS5 Instant explains, “GAME receives PS5 stock the first week of June. ~ 9,000 disc PS5 and 6,200 digital PS5.
“The next major PS5 replenishment delivery for Very is scheduled for the third week of June. The next Amazon PS5 UK is out June 2-9 (10,000 units). “
There could also be a final drop in stock from the PS5 in May 2021, although it’s unclear exactly when.
Stock tracks suggest it could arrive between today and June 2 and will be available on the website. It looks like these latest next-gen consoles will be available for pre-order, meaning they won’t arrive until June.
It’s important to know that more PlayStation stocks are coming, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock on each platform.
Here are some examples of the best way to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from major UK retailers:
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use guest verification as this option is less likely to crash when finalizing a purchase. GAME recently restocked the PS5 and is out of stock again.
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for its crashes and inability to make purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings. Argos is not expected to receive any more shares until June.
MAIL: Currys didn’t share much stock in May but did deliver consoles through a new system. This includes signing up for the Currys VIP Pass, which means going to the website and using an email address. If you do this, you have a chance to buy a PS5 console from a store, within 72 hours.
AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK works best under power, but still has a few issues to mention. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before heading out. Amazon is expected to release new stock in early June.
