It will be interesting to see what happens to Daniel Ballard at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old is set to return to north London this summer following a brilliant League One loan with Blackpool – and that could improve.
Arsenal academy member Ballard helped Tangerine advance to the playoff final and scored his side’s second goal with a great assist.
But he was pulled out injured in the middle of last night’s rematch with Oxford United as Neil Critchley’s side secured a place at Wembley with an aggregate victory of 6-3.
It remains to be seen if the loan from Arsenal will be available for the final in eight days.
But Ballard – who has kept 14 clean sheets in defense this season – certainly didn’t sound too pessimistic, when it comes to his post-game Twitter post.
And here’s how some Blackpool fans responded to him on social media:
It will be difficult for the youngster to break into Mikel Arteta’s senior squad at Arsenal.
Here again, we know that the Spaniard attaches great importance to the quality of his players in training.
He will certainly have a chance to impress Arteta in the preseason, but beyond that, who knows.
With question marks over William Saliba’s future and the Mavropanos Dinos supposedly sold, he may just make room for another central defender.
